Soon after, I began studying the “Science of Happiness.” Leading researcher and author Sonja Lyubomirsky, who describes happiness as “The experience of joy, contentment, or positive well-being, combined with a sense that one’s life is good, meaningful, and worthwhile,” says 50% of our ability to be happy is genetic, 10% is circumstantial, and that we have control over the other 40 percent.
